About Us

Starting Pathos wasn’t part of a master plan — at least not ours. We were chasing something we loved: the sport of wrestling. While running a wrestling retail shop, we introduced a new sock into our product line… and people absolutely loved it. Our socks even made their way to the Olympic finals thanks to some talented athletes.

Then something unexpected happened. Moms started “borrowing” their sons’ wrestling socks for horseback riding. Sisters who didn’t wrestle wore them to school because they were just that comfortable. A professional athlete once told us, “You could start a sock company with these.” And that’s exactly what we did — but we wanted to do it in a way that spread the love of Jesus.

It took a year and a half to come up with the perfect name and get it trademarked. After brainstorming thousands of ideas, we finally settled on Pathos (pronounced “PATH-os”), the Greek word for passion. Passion is at the heart of everything we do. As a faith-based company, we want our socks to do more than just feel good — we want them to encourage people to be a light and shine for the Lord as they pursue their dreams and passions.
